At Cosmetic Surgery Associates of New York, your liposuction procedure will be performed by removing targeted fat cells via a small, hollow tube called a cannula, through one or more tiny incisions near the area to be suctioned. Whenever possible, incisions are placed in areas where the body's natural creases will hide any potential scarring. The cannula is connected to a vacuum pressure unit and guided by your surgeon. The device then vacuums away the unwanted fat and cellulite – permanently.
