Dr. Jeffords is from the metropolitan Atlanta area. He is a graduate of South Cobb High School in Austell, Georgia. During high school, he was the Student Body President and was involved in numerous musical activities including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. He received first place in the brass solo division of the National Teen Talent Program. He attended the Georgia Governor's Honors Program. He was the state recipient of the Danforth Award and graduated from the American Youth Foundation's National Leadership Conferences.
Dr. Jeffords received his B.S. in Chemistry and Biology from Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee. Since his graduation from Lee University, he has received awards as Alumnus of the Year from both the Department of Natural Sciences and Upsilon Xi, his fraternity.
Dr. Jeffords received his D.D.S. from Emory University School of Dentistry, Atlanta, Georgia. While at Emory, he served as President of the Dental Student Body. He participated at a national level with the American Student Dental Association. Dr. Jeffords served as voting delegate to the Georgia Dental Association House of Delegates and was the recipient of numerous awards in student leadership, research, and academics. At graduation, Emory University bestowed the Marion Luther Brittain Award to Dr. Jeffords "as a public and permanent expression of gratitude for service to the University without expectation of reward or recognition". This award is the highest University wide commendation given annually to only one Emory graduate.
After dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at Harvard University/ Brigham and Women's Hospital and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. Dr. Jeffords then received his M.D. from the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his prerequisite training in General Surgery at Eastern Virginia.
Dr. Jeffords completed full residency training in the internationally renowned Plastic Surgery program of the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has lectured and presented papers to many national Plastic Surgery societies.
Dr. Jeffords is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He serves on the National Alumni Board of Eastern Virginia Medical School, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program Advisory Board, and is a member of the "Grammy Award" winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
