Liposuction removes stubborn fat deposits by suctioning it through a small tube - known as a cannula - inserted through very small incisions. Dr. Michael Bogdan offers the following advanced liposuction techniques:
"SuperWet" Liposuction: Dr. Bogdan injects the area with a minimal volume of a solution of local anesthetic, saline, and epinephrine. This technique allows for accurate contouring of the body and minimizes discomfort and bruising.
Ultrasonic Liposuction combines ultrasound technology with advanced surgical techniques to remove excess fat. The ultrasound energy is transmitted into the fat, which breaks up and emulsifies the fat. The surgical device is able to precisely treat only fatty tissue, leaving the surrounding tissue intact.
Power Assisted Liposuction utilizes new technology that allows the tip of the cannula to vibrate at a high speed. This vibration loosens the fat cells, which allows them to be gently suctioned away. There is generally less bruising and faster recovery.
