What is Liposuction? Liposuction is a type of body-sculpting procedure created to remove fat from the body that is unresponsive to diet and exercise. Unlike a tummy tuck, which focuses solely on the abdominal region, liposuction can be applied nearly anywhere on the body, including the stomach, waistline, arms, thighs, buttocks, hips, chinline, neckline, etc. Once an individual has undergone liposuction, they will enjoy a slimmer, tighter looking figure. A very small incision is made in the problem area, inserting a thin, hollow tube called a cannula, which breaks down the fat and sucks it up.
